Job summary

Evonik Allentown is seeking a Technician, Lab to independently perform complex laboratory tests, prepare samples, operate and maintain analytical equipment, and document results. You will support IPA Applied Technology, interpret data, and ensure safe handling of materials in a fast-paced team environment.

The role requires a BS or higher in a relevant field, strong communication, and a proactive, collaborative mindset. On-site position with emphasis on safety and accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in Chemistry, Material Science, Plastics Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
• Preferred 1+ year of technical experience in chemical industry.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct experimental tests to support IPA Applied Technology development with minimal supervision.
• Routinely operate laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Interpret data, identify trends or anomalies, and recommend potential solutions.
• Assist in establishing new and optimizing existing test methods.
• Manage calibration, maintenance, and repair of lab instrumentation.
• Maintain documentation and record-keeping in Smart Lab Notebook system.
• Manage chemical inventory according to site policy.
• Ensure compliance with Evonik safety procedures and guidelines.
• Lead lab Design Hazard Review processes and conduct safety audits.
