Job summary

Rapiscan Systems, Inc. via Altaflex, a division of OSI Electronics, seeks a Lab Technician 2 to perform routine analysis, micro-sectioning, and wastewater monitoring in a manufacturing setting.

You will test chemical samples, prepare reports, and ensure quality and safety while supporting multiple departments and overtime as needed. Familiarity with microscopes and PCB-related processes is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School degree required; relevant experience may be substituted for a degree.
• Experience in cross section preparation and analysis desired.
• 1+ years of micro section analysis experience is needed.
• Familiarity with microscope and laboratory procedures in manufacturing environment desired.
• Computer data entry and microscope operation desired.
• Printed circuit board related experience desired.
• Ability to read and interpret customer blueprint and specification helpful.
• Must be able to multi-task projects.
• Must have good hand-eye coordination, to use technical equipment with accuracy.
• Must be flexible in working in various departments as needed and support overtime needs.

Responsibilities

• Testing all chemical incoming, in-process, spent process & waste water samples for internal/external use.
• Perform micro-sectioning to measure copper plating thickness, dielectric layers, solder joint quality, and other structural features; provide feedback to managers.
• Inspect, replenish, analyze and maintain the wastewater system.
• Prepare laboratory and Micro Sectioning reports to be submitted for customer review.
• Follow appropriate methodologies and SOPs as required.
• Label and characterize containers as per the Transportation of Dangerous Goods for proper disposal of spent solutions and sludge.
