Job summary

MLC, headquartered in St. Louis, Mo., operates the largest lime facility in the Americas and analyzes product samples in quality control labs at Ste. Genevieve.

Laboratory Technicians collect samples from production facilities and deliver them to the main lab for testing, performing a variety of tests to assure quality control and QA and communicating issues to the supervisor. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, a High School Diploma (2 years lab experience preferred), strong

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; 2 years lab tech experience preferred.
  • Must have strong math, communication, and computer skills.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work in shifts including evenings/holidays/weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Collect samples from production facilities and transport to the main laboratory for testing.
  • Perform a variety of tests to ensure quality control and quality assurance.
  • Notify production staff or Lab Supervisor of issues with samples or results.
  • Update the Laboratory Information Management System with test results.
  • Carry out weekly calibration checks on lab and process equipment.
  • Assist in maintenance/repair of laboratory instruments.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

About the Job

Laboratory Technicians analyze and evaluate product samples taken from the various plant facilities for quality control and quality assurance.

  • Picks up samples from production facilities and delivers them to the main laboratory for testing.
  • Performs a variety of tests on samples taken from the various plant facilities to assure quality control and quality assurance.
  • Communicate to production personnel or Laboratory Supervisor any issues with samples/analytical results so those issues can be rectified.
  • Update the Laboratory Information Management System with test results.
  • Performs weekly calibration checks on certain laboratory and process equipment.
  • Assist Laboratory personnel in the maintenance and repair of certain laboratory instruments.
  • Employees are expected to perform other responsibilities as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • High School Diploma required. 2 years’ experience as a Laboratory Technician is preferred.
  • Good math skills, computer literate, and good communication skills are required.
  • This position will require shift work, including evenings, holidays, and weekends.
