Job summary

SBM is seeking a Lab Tech in Indianapolis to clean and organize the lab, maintain glassware, and keep daily logs. The role includes inventory management, equipment operation, and following strict safety guidelines.

Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED and may need GMP/ aseptic manufacturing experience, a valid license, and forklift certification. The position requires professional communication with supervisors and team members.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience in aseptic or GMP/regulated manufacturing or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license; forklift certification may be required.
  • Valid laboratory technician license and safety training certifications.
  • Ability to read P&ID, electrical drawings, blueprints, PLC ladder logic.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and organize lab environment; maintain daily duty logs.
  • Maintain glassware; inventory and distribution.
  • Receive orders and provide glassware inventory.
  • Keep supplies stocked; verify receipt.
  • Operate and troubleshoot equipment; perform preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain daily logs and equipment records.
  • Participate in meetings and support project team.
  • Follow safety and environmental rules at all times.

Job Overview

The Lab Tech will be responsible for cleaning and organizing lab environment, reporting any lab room problems, keeping daily log of duties as required, and glass washing tasks.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Maintain glassware by cleaning, washing, sterilizing, and distributing
  • Order, receive, and provide inventory for glassware
  • Keep laboratory supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt
  • Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions, and troubleshooting
  • Perform preventive maintenance and calling for repairs when needed
  • Maintain daily logs and equipment record books
  • Complete projects by assisting project team; attending and participating in group and project meetings
  • Comply with safety and environmental rules, policies, and procedures. Stop at risk behavior of others and self
  • Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed, strictly, at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly environment
  • Take direction and respond to supervision
  • Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner
  • Proper use and maintenance of hand and power tools, and other equipment
  • Use proper personal protective equipment
Qualification

Education and/ or Experience

High School diploma / GED - preferred

Experience in aseptic or GMP/regulated manufacturing or equivalent combination of training and experience - preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Required to have a valid driver's license, if driving own vehicle on business time or company vehicle. May be required to have forklift certification. Valid laboratory technician license. Completed all safety, environmental and task training certifications.

Working Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and database systems

Operation/use of general hand and power tools, instruments, and testing apparatus common to the electronic and instrumentation fields

Ability to read P&ID's, electrical drawings, blueprints, PLC ladder logic, etc.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Shifts and Compensation

Sunday - Thursday: 4pm - 12:30am

$17.05- $18.05 per hour
