Job summary

Fives DyAG Corp. in Erlanger, KY is seeking a Lab Technician to perform analytical testing on in-process and finished product samples using wet chemistry and lab instrumentation. You will prepare samples, calibrate equipment, and document results to support product quality.

The role requires lab experience with pH meters, balances, spectrophotometers, and LIMS, along with strong Excel/Word skills and a commitment to FDA/cGMP/OSHA/EPA/BATF compliance. 6-month contract, Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related science preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing/food science environment required.
• Hands‑on lab equipment experience (pH meters, balances, spectrophotometers).
• Experience with wet chemistry testing methods.
• Experience using LIMS.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word.
• Strong math/analytical skills.
• Ability to document and communicate results.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for testing.
• Perform routine analytical testing using wet chemistry methods and instrumentation.

• Monitor production processes and communicate adjustments to operators.

Lab Technician

Location: Erlanger, KY 41018
Pay Rate: $26.00–$26.50/hr, paid weekly
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM
Contract Length: 6 months, plus

Overview

The Lab Technician performs analytical testing on in-process and finished product samples using wet chemistry methods and laboratory instrumentation in a manufacturing environment.

This position is responsible for sample preparation, equipment calibration, process monitoring, accurate documentation of test results, and communication with plant operations to support product quality. The Lab Technician will work within a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and follow all applicable FDA, cGMP, OSHA, EPA, and BATF requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare in-process and finished product samples for laboratory testing.


• Perform routine analytical testing using wet chemistry methods and laboratory instrumentation.


• Operate laboratory equipment including pH meters, analytical balances, and spectrophotometers.


• Enter, track, and report test results accurately using LIMS and Microsoft Excel.


• Monitor production processes and communicate required adjustments to plant operators when necessary.


• Perform daily equipment calibration, cleaning, and light maintenance.


• Retain tested product samples when required for verification or additional testing.


• Monitor laboratory testing supplies and notify supervisors when inventory needs to be reordered.


• Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment using 5S standards.


• Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.


• Maintain compliance with FDA, cGMP, OSHA, EPA, and BATF regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.


• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related science discipline preferred.


• Previous laboratory testing experience in a manufacturing, food science, chemical processing, or similar plant environment required.


• Hands‑on experience with laboratory equipment such as pH meters, analytical balances, and spectrophotometers required.


• Experience performing wet chemistry testing methods required.


• Experience using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) required.


• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.


• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.


• Ability to perform laboratory calculations and troubleshoot testing discrepancies.


• Ability to accurately document and communicate test results.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted.


• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
