Job summary

Aviagen is seeking a detail‑oriented Lab Quality Operations Technician to manage day‑to‑day activities of the laboratory quality system and coordinate ISO compliance across the site. The role includes setting up cultures, reporting results, and ensuring proper sanitation of equipment and glassware.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, strong organizational and communication skills, and be available on weekends. A valid driver’s license and proficiency with Excel/Word are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be a Self-Motivator with ability to perform tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
• Good communication, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills.
• Team oriented.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Be proficient with computer, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Leadership experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up cultures in Bacteriology.
• Identify bacteria and report results.
• Wash and disinfect equipment to be used on the farms.
• Wash glassware.
• Autoclave materials and supplies.
• Evaluate and communicate problems in test procedures to the supervisor.
• Learn new procedures as they become part of the routine tests performed in the lab.
• Comply with ISO Standards.
• Availability on weekends is a must as Bacteriology Department operates seven days a week.

They will liaise with other internal Lab Quality and Technical Specialists to ensure compliance.
