Job summary

Symrise is seeking a Food Safety HACCP Technician on the night shift (6pm–6:15am) located in Anniston, AL. You will perform HACCP tasks, calibrations, and documentation while collaborating across departments, including USDA interactions. Requires degrees in Chemistry, Microbiology, or Food Science/Technology or related certifications, plus lab experience.

Starting pay is $22.42/hr with raises to $25.63/hr over 24 months. Benefits include BCBS of AL and a 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, or Food Science/Technology preferred.
• Currently enrolled pursuing BS in the fields above with hours exceeding an Associate Degree.
• Associate Degree in Chemistry, Food Science/Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT ASCP certification required).
• At least 4 college verifiable level courses (C average or better) in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or Food Science/Technology.
• Experience in a food industry laboratory or medical laboratory (not class work related).
• Experience with LIMS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform HACCP program related tasks including audits, monitoring, verification, and documentation.
• Complete, review, and file associated documentation.
• Conduct HACCP system and equipment calibrations/verifications.
• Maintain knowledge of FITCO HACCP plans and supporting programs.
• Communicate effectively across departments including USDA interactions.
• Enter data accurately on documentation and systems.
• Other duties as assigned.

These include but are not limited to the following: (1) Critical Control Point auditing, monitoring, verifying, and documentation. (2) Completing, reviewing, and filing of all associated documentation. (3) Conducting HACCP related system and equipment calibrations/verifications.
