Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking a Laboratory Department Leader who will oversee daily activities, set the tone for the team, and model professional leadership. This role ensures that tasks, projects, and responsibilities align with departmental and organizational goals.

The successful candidate will demonstrate accountability for operations, coordinate staff performance, and drive quality and safety in the clinical laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Science or Medical Technology.
• Must be licensed ASCP/AMT/NCA or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of professional experience in a clinical laboratory setting.

Required Qualifications

• - Require to be qualified as an ASCP, AMT, NCA, or equivalent licensure.
• - Require a minimum of one (1) year of experience in a professional capacity in a clinical laboratory setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• - Prefer previous supervisory experience.
• - Prefer the ability to handle multiple priorities at once.
• - Prefer excellent communicator and listening skills.
• - Prefer licensure as a Supervisor, under Chapter 483, Part IV, Florida Statute 61F-5.002 or able to qualify within one year.
