Job summary

ENL Laboratory in Northern California seeks a Laboratory Technical Assistant to receive, label, and load specimens onto analyzers under CLS supervision. The role requires basic biology/chemistry coursework and familiarity with lab safety protocols.

Qualified applicants may possess phlebotomy certification and proficiency in Word and Excel, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and support routine and specialized lab tasks.

Qualifications

• A minimum of two years of college coursework toward a related science degree (Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Nursing, CLS)
• Certified Phlebotomy Certification would be preferred
• Proficiency with Word/Excel and following universal precautions

Responsibilities

• Pre-processes specimens by receiving, labeling and loading onto analyzers under supervision of CLS
• Demonstrates proficiency with procedures in a clinical laboratory setting

Position Summary

The Laboratory Technical Assistant pre-processes specimens by receiving, labeling and loading the specimen(s) onto analyzers. They routinely perform routine and specialized assignments and demonstrate proficiency and understanding of the procedures in the areas of a clinical laboratory under the direction of the Clinical Laboratory Scientist.

Minimum

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of two years of college course work working towards a degree in Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Nursing, Clinical Laboratory Scientist or other related science degree.

Certified Phlebotomy Certification

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel software programs. Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment. Basic computer skills. Must be aware of chemical hygiene protocols, and handling requirements of biohazard materials. Must know and follow all universal precautions. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
