The Clinical Laboratory Scientist performs various clinical laboratory tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases. They receive or obtain specimens for laboratory analysis, and applies techniques used in fields of bacteriology, parasitology, hematology, serology, immunohematology, chemical and morphological examinations. They record laboratory test results and may be engaged in research.
Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment. Must be aware of chemical hygiene protocols and handling requirements for biohazard materials. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
