Job summary

DigiPen Institute of Technology is seeking a part-time Teaching Assistant (TA) at the Redmond campus to support instructors and students in programming and game design courses. You will assist with labs, grading, and office hours, requiring strong Unity and Unreal skills and a collaborative mentoring approach.

Only current DigiPen students with a 2.5+ GPA and relevant coursework may apply. Normal class times apply, with strict in-person attendance on campus in Redmond, WA.

Qualifications

• MAINLYTECHNICALPOSITION- Must have VERY STRONG coding and troubleshooting skills (Unity) to assist students with technical questions
• Unreal proficiency and/or experience with Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) required
• Unity proficiency bonus
• Strong Level Design skills
• Has either taken DES-345 before OR has taken and passed DES-340 with a B+ or higher
• Applicants with ANY class schedule conflicts/overlaps will not be considered
• Must be able to work in-person on Redmond campus
• Possess a positive attitude toward learning and a willingness to help others excel
• Be comfortable interacting with other students on an instructional level as a mentor
• Arrive on time and be prepared to attend with complete focus during work hours
• Be available to create “office hours” outside of listed class time to answer student questions and assist the professor with assignment grading or prep

Responsibilities

• Assisting students in labs and during published office hours
• Meeting students online, if required
• Grading lab-reports using the provided guidelines
• Providing constructive feedback in the grading to the students
• Timely delivery of graded reports/assignments and maintaining consistency and clarity in grading
• Accountable for tracking and reporting the amount of time worked
