Job summary

INX International is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our Buena Park location. You will perform color matching, proofing, cataloging, and support quality control, coordinating with manufacturing and R&D.

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Strong written, reading comprehension, and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent basic math and computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Log and complete color match requests and create proof displays for customers.
  • Maintain accurate records for all color match formulas, hard files, and computer files.
  • Keep the work area clean and safe, including equipment upkeep and waste disposal.
  • Assist QC with product evaluations and respond to production urgencies as needed.
  • Operate and understand lab equipment functions and safety practices.
  • Update knowledge on testing methods, specifications, and changing requirements.
  • Complete online safety training and travel to customer sites when required.
  • Order and manage inventory of lab supplies and coordinate with departments.
  • Support lab, quality, production, and technical service activities as needed.

Job Description

This role offers a starting range of $25 to $35 per hour. Actual compensation will be based on qualifications such as experience, education, certifications, and skills, as well as geographic considerations.

We are seeking a laboratory technician to be based at our brand-new Buena Park location. This individual will perform lab services such as color matching, proofing, cataloging, assisting the quality control department and ordering lab supplies. This position reports to the Lab Manager, coordinates tasks with the Lab Manager and works in cooperation with other departments, particularly manufacturing and R&D. As a lab tech, you will be responsible to:

  • Log and complete color match requests, which includes matching colors, and then making proof displays to send to the customers.
  • Establish and maintain accurate and complete records for all color match formulas, hard files, and computer files.
  • Maintain the work area, which includes cleaning and upkeep of equipment and instruments,waste disposal and keeping everything in safe working order.
  • Perform established assessment tests/evaluations of products in QC when assistance is needed.
  • Recognize and respondappropriately to the urgencies of production situations.
  • Operate, clean, and understand principles and practical functions of lab equipment and instruments.
  • Keep current on changing requirements in test methods, evaluations, specificationsand other special situations.
  • Complete assigned online safety training and work in a safe manner.
  • Order and maintain inventory of assigned lab supplies.
  • Work cooperatively with other groups in the technical department and withother departments.
  • Take on added responsibilities as needs arise.
  • Support laboratory, quality, production, and technical service activities as business needs require.
  • Travel to customer sites, manufacturing facilities, and other company locations on short notice when necessary.
  • Respond effectively to changing priorities and urgent business needs.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications

To perform your job as expected, you will be required to:

  • Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Have good and effective written, reading comprehensionand verbalcommunication skills.
  • Have excellent basic math and computer skills.
  • Work on multiple projects at any time.
  • Have a proven ability to evaluate datasets, identify trends and root causes, and develop actionable, data-driven recommendations.
  • Must be willing and able to travel on short notice as business needs require.
  • Must be highly adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Must demonstrate a flexible, team-oriented approach and willingness to support a variety of operational and technical functions.

In addition to these qualifications, we will consider it a plus if you have:

  • Color matching experience.
  • Proficiency with a spectrophotometer and densitometer.
  • Press room experience.
  • Experience with polyesterinks.
