Job summary

Abbott in Gretna, Louisiana, is seeking a Lab Tech Jr. for a 6-month, 100% onsite assignment. The role focuses on operating and maintaining screening instruments, reviewing test results for donor specimens and QC samples, and testing with refractometers and pH meters.

Education required is a BS in Chemistry or Biology. Strong skills in instrumentation, regulatory knowledge, and problem solving are preferred to ensure accuracy and confidentiality in a fast-paced lab setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of screening and specimen validity test methods (EIA, CEDIA, ELISA)
• Experience with refractometers and pH meters
• Ability to troubleshoot screening instruments and follow SOPs (127)
