Abbott in Alameda, CA is seeking a Complaint Investigations Tech to support investigation of returned blood glucose meters, strips, and sensors. The role involves unpacking, sorting by product line, and documenting findings in the complaint handling system.

You'll operate lab equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, test fixtures, microscopes), perform routine testing, and ensure records and equipment validity.

Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma or GED with technical experience.
• Associates or Bachelor's degree considered.
• Experience in Medical Device/Biotech preferred.
• Reading and following SOPs required.
• Strong documentation and data entry skills.
• Ability to work in a team and focus on repetitive investigations.

Responsibilities

Job description

Title: Complaint Investigations Tech

Location: Alameda, CA

Duration: 6 Months

Shifts: 5am - 1:30pm

100% Onsite

Summary:

The Technician will be responsible for: Unpacking boxes safely and sorting the returned products accordingly by product lines. Investigating returned products to resolve customer complaints regarding their blood glucose meters, strips & sensors.

The Technician will document complaint investigations in the Complaint Handling System. The Technician will also use troubleshooting equipment like, multi-meters, oscilloscopes, test fixtures, microscopes, etc. to complete the investigation. Perform routine maintenance on individual quality records and ensure equipment used for testing is within validity.

• Must Have ~ proficient computer skills to navigate Internet programs used, basic Microsoft Office skills and be able to read, write and comprehend English.
• Experience in Medical Device / Biotech Industry with a Technical Background is preferred.
• Knowledge of Electronic Troubleshooting is preferred.
• Ability to work in a team setting is a plus.
• Ability to follow written work instructions of SOP’s is required.
• Good documentation skills are a must.
• Good computer skills are essential for this job, since data entry of investigation results is a primary part of the job.
• Ability to focus while performing repetitive and routine investigations is a must.
• Great fit for workers with Inspection and Quality experience.
• Minimum education required is H.S. Diploma or equivalent (such as GED) with Technical experience.
• An Associates (Two year) degree in Electrical Engineering or other Science may be considered.
• Recent college graduates with a Bachelor’s degree are an ideal fit for this entry level position.

Perform routine testing (physical, chemical or functional) on product returned from the field due to a customer complaint, using a variety of lab equipment. Summarize and record all test data and maintain proper documentation of all lab work.

Process customer returns in a timely manner in accordance with ISO and FDA QS Reg. Support company goal for timeliness of complaint investigations and closures. Must have good written and oral communications skills.
