Job summary

Old World Industries in Northbrook, Illinois, is seeking a lab-focused intern to support analytical validation and QC for automotive fluids. You will prepare samples, run basic analyses, and assist a team of chemists and engineers under supervision.

The role requires pursuing a science degree with chemistry coursework completed, strong attention to detail, and excellent time management. On-site work with a comprehensive benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

• Majoring in a science field with interest in analytical chemistry.
• Completed at least one year of college chemistry and mathematics.
• Detail oriented with strong problem solving and self-start mindset.
• Good time management and ability to handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Check and restock consumable lab supplies.
• Log samples and update materials database.
• Calibrate and maintain equipment.
• Prepare samples and perform basic analysis (pH, washing, filtering).
• Set up and run samples on ICP, UV-Vis, HPLC, IC and GC-MS.
• Process data and interpret results.
• Work with chemist and engineers training on SOPs.
