Job summary

CONMED is seeking a Lab Tech I to evaluate customer-returned products through visual, functional, electrical, mechanical, and chemical testing. You will document results in complaint files and support investigations, gaining exposure to a range of products.

If you are curious, detail-oriented, and a problem solver, we want you on our team. You will decontaminate samples, coordinate with approved vendors for off-site work when needed, and ensure equipment calibration for testing.

Qualifications

  • 0-3 years in a lab environment; willing to train in a hands-on role.
  • Familiarity with Word and Excel.
  • Basic knowledge of GMP/QSR regulations and MDR reporting desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Decontaminate returned product per procedures.
  • Coordinate off-site decontamination with approved vendor when needed.
  • Perform product evaluations and testing per procedures and standards.
  • Document evaluations per procedures and maintain complaint files.
  • Manage in-process workload with FIFO priority; Adverse Event Reportability.
  • Coordinate return of complaint product with suppliers/OEM for vendor evaluation.
  • Ensure test equipment is calibrated or maintained for testing.
  • Provide weekly status updates on in-process activities in the lab.

Job description

As a Lab Tech I for CONMED, you will evaluate product returned by our customers by performing visual, functional, electrical, mechanical, and chemical testing. You will be an important part of the team that evaluates, and documents results in complaint files per procedural requirements. In this role, you'll gain exposure to many different products. If you are a curious, hands-on learner with strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills, we encourage you to apply for this role.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Decontaminate returned customer complaint product per established procedures. Coordinate off-site decontamination with approved vendor when decontamination cannot occur on-site.Using various lab test equipment perform product evaluations and testing according to procedures, protocols, established methods, and standards, in support of customer complaint investigations. Document the evaluations per established procedures.Manage in-process workload ensuring FIFO and Adverse Event Reportability are priority.Work with suppliers and OEM to coordinate the return of complaint product for evaluation by the vendor.Assure test equipment is properly calibrated or has had the appropriate preventative maintenance for customer complaint testing.Provides management with a weekly update on the status of in-process activities in the lab.Job Requirements:0-3 years working in a lab environment, preferably a medical device manufacturer test lab. Willing to train and work in a hands-on environment.Preferred Experience:AAS in a science/technical discipline preferred.Familiarity with using Word and Excel.Basic knowledge of GMP/QSR regulations and knowledge of MDR reporting requirement desirableExpected Travel 0-20%This position is not eligible for employer-visa sponsorshipDisclosure as required by applicable law, the hourly range for this position is $18.40 - $28.60 an hour.
