Job summary

Miami Valley Hospital's Free Standing Emergency Department in Jamestown, OH is seeking a Part-Time Technical Assistant for Day or Evening shifts with weekend and holiday rotation. You will perform phlebotomy, specimen handling, instrument setup and quality control under supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, laboratory experience, and familiarity with medical terminology. Associate degree or current MLS program enrollment is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree preferred in Natural Science/Allied Health or current enrollment in Medical Laboratory Science program.
• Laboratory experience required.
• Medical terminology and keyboarding skills helpful.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy.
• Process specimens and handle core lab preparation/packing.
• Set up and maintain laboratory instrumentation.
• Prepare and load quality control materials; evaluate QC results.
• Operate laboratory instruments and troubleshoot with vendor support.
• Perform waived and moderately complex testing per CLIA.
• Track and order supplies for day-to-day operation.
• Assist in calibration verification and logs review.
• Coordinate with staff to ensure testing is completed on time.
