Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital in Athens, Georgia, is seeking a Lab Tech Assistant to perform sample processing and venipunctures, supporting a range of laboratory tests. Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED is required.
• One year of experience as a phlebotomist, laboratory processor or laboratory assistant; enrollment in a Medical Technician program may substitute for experience.
• Working knowledge of clinical laboratory processes is preferred.
• Experience performing EKGs is preferred.
• Experience in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS/CLIA, OSHA and state standards.
• Performs venipunctures and obtains/prepares blood specimens per Piedmont policies.
• Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.
