Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Texas is seeking a Lab Tech 2 who receives and processes specimens, performs clerical checks, and may perform phlebotomy. The role supports Medical Technologists and contributes to accurate lab results.

You will handle routine procedures, label and prepare specimens, operate centrifuges and timers, and maintain supplies. Strong communication, safety awareness, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Less than 1 year of experience in a clinical lab environment.
• Phlebotomy skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts routine laboratory procedures where the range of possible errors is limited.
• Sorts, labels and records patient specimens. Set up specimen, material and equipment in preparation for Medical Technologist to perform test.
• Operates centrifuge, simplex timers, cell washer and other laboratory equipment in completing assigned duties.
• Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies.
• Maintains effective communication and working relationships with all laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers.
• Participates in laboratory projects and educational activities.
