Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Texas is seeking a Lab Tech 2 to receive and process specimens and perform clerical checks to support medical technologists. Phlebotomy may be required.

You will handle routine lab procedures with attention to accuracy and safety, and collaborate with teams to ensure timely results. The role emphasizes preparing specimens, operating basic lab equipment, maintaining supplies, and contributing to educational activities within the lab.

Qualifications

• Education: H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent.
• Experience: Less than 1 year.
• Phlebotomy skills required for all age groups.
• Ability to operate laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conducts routine laboratory procedures where the range of possible errors is limited.
• Sorts, labels and records patient specimens. Set up specimen, material and equipment in preparation for Medical Technologist to perform test.
• Operates centrifuge, simplex timers, cell washer and other Laboratory equipment in completing assigned duties.
• Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies.
• Maintains effective communication and working relationships with all laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers.
• Participates in laboratory projects and educational activities.
