• Operates computers to calculate results, report results, and perform related data tasks.

Lab Tech 2

Location:

Metallurgical Complex (Analytical Lab) - Columbus, MT

Schedule:

Rotating - Super 7

Day Shift: 5:30am - 4:10pm

Night Shift: 3:30pm - 2:40am

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Performs sample preparation, which includes operations such as filtering slurries, drying, crushing, pulverizing, and splitting of samples in order to provide a representative sample for chemical analysis. Samples include concentrator slurries, geological channel and drill cores, smelter and refinery samples.
• Perform chemical analysis using fire assay, wet chemical digestion, x-ray analysis, and instrumentation spectrometry. Analysis is inorganic including precious metals and base metals.
• Use computers and calculate results, report results and to do various other computer work.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Analytical laboratory experience required.
• Must possess equivalent skills to meet task proficiency matrix.
• Computer literate, preferably experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Successful completion of the Analytical Laboratory Aptitude Test.
