Prophecy Technologies Corp. is seeking a Lab Engineer to support scientists with laboratory PCs, instrumentation, and devices in R&D. You will maintain and secure a large fleet of lab computers, image onboarding, network integration, and data workflows.

You will troubleshoot hardware, software, and security issues, collaborate with scientists and IT teams, and help implement validated data backup and incident management processes. Strong communication and proactive learning are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with lab computers, instrumentation, and data workflows.
• Understanding of network topology and OSI model concepts.
• Familiarity with Active Directory and endpoint security practices.
• Experience working in Agile environments and in cross functional teams.

Responsabilités

• Maintain and support computer infrastructure for scientists (approx. 5000 PCs globally).
• Image/onboard new computers into domain and network; decommission end-of-life devices.
• Secure and harden hardware; protect equipment.
• Consult with scientists to support their equipment needs.
• Troubleshoot data flows for scientific instruments and implement data backup on lab equipment.
• Provide incident management and user support; assist with access management.
• Test and validate software across environments; document procedures.

The Lab Engineering position in the R&D area requires a skilled Engineer familiar with supporting scientists with laboratory PCs, instrumentation, and devices. Lab Engineers are focused on maintaining operational computer systems for the scientists they support, joining newly-supplied hardware to the network, securing and hardening devices, and generally facilitating the needs of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in maintaining existing computer infrastructure of 5000 PCs globally.
• Image/Onboard new computers into the domain and onto the network and decommission them.
• Secure and protect new and existing hardware.
• Consult with the business as they require assistance with their equipment.
• Troubleshoot and implement data flows for scientific instruments.
• Implement the validated data backup solution on laboratory analytical equipment (equipment and software investigation, documentation, technical configuration) within R&D (GxP and non-GxP).
• Support for scientists in incident management, user support and coaching, access management.
• Testing and validation of computer software (complete tests in different environments, writing technical documentation).

Required Skills:

• Outstanding computer troubleshooting skills for obscure issues, ranging from device connectivity and laboratory software issues.
• Background with End-user Computing or Desktop Support skills essential.
• Understanding of Hardware Components and Networking concepts, such as network topography, VLANs, Static/Dynamic IPs, Subnetting, IT/OT Networks, and basic understanding of firewalls. Candidate should be familiar with the OSI model and how to troubleshoot different network layers.
• Knowledge and understanding of Active Directory.
• D2D and/or project support.
• AGILE ways of working necessary.
• Background with computer security.
• Familiar with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow.
• Must have outstanding communication skills.
• Candidate must be a team player.
• Self-starter, attention to detail and willingness to learn new things.
• Must be willing to follow processes, procedures and guidance.
• Excellent organizational skills.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience with validated systems (GxP) a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Microsoft Excel skills a plus.
• In-depth knowledge in Microsoft OS including iOS and Linux a plus.
• Experience in leading team is a plus.
