Job summary

Onterris in Orange, CA seeks a Team Lead for the Semi-Volatile Organics (SVOA) laboratory. You will lead daily extraction operations, mentor staff, ensure SOPs, regulatory compliance and timely sample processing.

The role combines hands-on technical work with leadership, training, and continuous improvement. EPA methods 3510, 3541, 3546, 3580 familiarity is preferred; lift up to 50 lbs; standard lab safety and QA/QC focus. Schedule: Mon-Fri 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM; compensation $26–$30/hour, onsite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field; equivalent combinations considered.
• Minimum four years of hands-on environmental laboratory extraction experience.
• Minimum one year of demonstrated ability to lead staff and manage workflow.
• Familiarity with EPA extraction methodologies and QA/QC systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily extraction activities to ensure samples are processed accurately and on time.
• Train and mentor extraction personnel on SOPs, safety practices, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate workload distribution and monitor productivity and holding times.
• Perform routine and complex extraction procedures per EPA methodologies and SOPs.
• Review documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance; support audits.
