Job summary

Innovatus Technology Consulting seeks a hands-on Systems Engineer to support the Data Fusion Lab at Patuxent River, MD. You will own the lab's development, integration, simulation, and test infrastructure across Windows, Linux, virtualization, and containers with the authorization posture in mind.

You will treat ATO and security requirements as engineering constraints to keep development velocity while maintaining compliant posture, enabling developers to ship capability quickly.

Qualifications

• Mission-enablement mindset: treat ATO/security as solvable engineering constraints.
• Rapid, solution-oriented problem solving: identify a compliant path when conflicts arise.
• Ability to minimize developer overhead: own infrastructure, RMF docs, change control, ATO impact.
• Development/test infrastructure experience: hands-on support for DevSecOps and test environments.
• Strong Linux/virtualization/cloud skills: RH/VMs/OpenStack/containers & networking.
• Practical ATO/RMF expertise: RMF, NIST SP 800-53, STIGs, SSPs, continuous monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Provide hardware support and day-to-day operations for lab systems (compute, storage, networking).
• Deliver Windows and Linux OS and application support across development, integration, and test environments.
• Support containers and orchestration (Podman, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Support OpenStack and VM environments used for development, simulation, and test.
• Own compliance assurance: STIG hardening, patching, backups, ACAS/Tenable scanning.
