Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred)
• 1+ years laboratory or phlebotomy experience preferred
• Experience including clinical rotation or phlebotomy program preferred

Responsibilities

• Collect, receive, identify, label, process, and transport specimens
• Perform clerical duties including phones, filing, scanning, and data entry into EMR/LIS
• Verify patient identification and specimen accuracy
• Perform waived testing and ensure proper specimen storage and submission
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and equipment
• Maintain adequate inventory of supplies and proper documentation
• Communicate test results to providers and support reporting processes
• Apply infection control standards and universal precautions
• Assist in training new staff and supporting laboratory quality improvement efforts
• Participate in lab meetings, in-services, and compliance with safety protocols
