Job summary

SSM Health St. Clare Hospital - Fenton is seeking a Regular, full-time Phlebotomy position. You will perform standard laboratory tasks, phlebotomy and waived testing, and support the laboratory with clerical duties in a patient-facing role.

Under supervision, you will collect specimens, enter orders in the EMR, and assist with admission activities while ensuring accurate patient identification and safety protocols. BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED, or 10 years of work experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in a laboratory setting.
• Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads lab specimens from instruments and performs waived testing.
• Assists in handling problem requisitions/specimens and orients new hires.
• Collects, labels, processes and preserves specimens; enters lab orders in EMR.
• Performs administrative duties including reception and admissions processing as needed.
• Maintains clean work area and supports other clerical duties in the laboratory.
