Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis is seeking a Lab Support Technician I to join the provider care team.

The role supports reports, data and scheduling for the laboratory, delivering accurate, timely lab support and courteous service in line with Mercy Signature Service. You will handle specimen collection, processing, transport and referral of all specimen types, while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality and adherence to lab policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; healthcare program enrollment preferred.
• No active disciplinary actions or performance improvement plans.
• Previous clinical laboratory exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, timely laboratory support including reports, data and scheduling.
• Acquire laboratory specimens for testing using safe, professional methods while observing HIPAA.
• Process, transport and refer all types of specimens and reports as required.
• Maintain Mercy Service Standards and excellent customer service with internal and external customers.
