Job summary

Austin Community College is seeking an Assistant, Lab (Hourly) to provide temporary lab support Monday–Thursday and Saturday 11:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. The role includes equipment setup, safety oversight, and basic maintenance. Minimum high school diploma; physics lab experience preferred and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

The position offers a part-time schedule, hourly pay of $23.00, and requires adherence to safety and health regulations in a college lab setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of laboratory safety practices.
• Knowledge of discipline related technical equipment.
• Knowledge of basic discipline related equipment technical support.
• Safely handling, using, and storing lab equipment.
• Two years of physics lab experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist with setting up and cleaning up lab equipment for student-conducted experiments.
• Performs annual inventory of lab equipment.
• Maintains knowledge and safe operation of lab equipment.
• Ensures lab safety and responds to laboratory emergencies.
• Maintains health and safety procedures/regulations in the lab.
