  • Experience with equipment assembly, rack integration, manufacturing, construction, warehouse operations, or other hands‑on technical work.
  • Familiarity with common hand tools and basic electrical or electronic equipment.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions, drawings, and established procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including inventory tracking and data entry.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with engineers and other laboratory personnel.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds, and perform physical tasks around equipment racks.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles, installs, and configures server racks, test equipment, and related hardware.
  • Mounts equipment and completes basic mechanical and electrical connections.
  • Routes, labels, and organizes cables according to drawings and standards.
  • Uses hand and power tools to complete assembly and installation work.
  • Assists with laboratory setup, equipment movement, and workspace organization.
  • Tracks tools, components, equipment, and consumable supplies.
  • Receives, inspects, labels, and stores incoming materials.
  • Supports basic testing and data collection using lab instruments.
  • Follows procedures, diagrams, schematics, and instructions from engineering staff.
  • Documents completed work and reports equipment, material, or safety issues.
  • Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe laboratory environment.
  • Follows electrical, ESD, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Provides occasional support outside standard working hours when scheduled.

Position Description:

The Lab Support Technician provides hands‑on support for laboratory operations, equipment integration, and engineering test activities. This role is responsible for assembling and configuring server and equipment racks, installing hardware, organizing cables, maintaining laboratory inventory, and assisting engineers with equipment setup and data collection.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assemble, install, and configure server racks, test equipment, and related hardware
  • Mount equipment and complete basic mechanical and electrical connections
  • Route, label, and organize cables according to drawings and established standards
  • Use hand and power tools to complete assembly and installation work
  • Assist with laboratory setup, equipment movement, and workspace organization
  • Track tools, components, equipment, and consumable supplies
  • Receive, inspect, label, and store incoming materials
  • Support basic testing and data collection using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and other laboratory instruments
  • Follow written procedures, diagrams, schematics, and instructions from engineering staff
  • Document completed work and report equipment, material, or safety issues
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe laboratory environment
  • Follow all applicable electrical, ESD, and workplace safety requirements
  • Provide occasional support outside standard working hours when scheduled
