Job summary

IQVIA Laboratories in Valencia, CA is seeking a Lab Assistant to provide administrative and laboratory support. You will assist with routine laboratory procedures, specimen handling, storage activities and daily maintenance to keep operations compliant and efficient.

The role requires 6 months of regulated-lab experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and strong attention to safety and detail. Multiple shift times are available, with base pay discussed during hiring.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required (some CAP/CLIA locations may require an Associate Degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology).
• 6 months of experience in a regulated lab environment.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory safety, infection control, hazardous chemical handling, and standard precautions.
• Knowledge of laboratory equipment, terminology, sterilization, decontamination procedures, and hazardous waste management.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and support laboratory workflow.

Responsibilities

• Maintain laboratory glassware by washing, rinsing, drying, distributing, and storing laboratory materials.
• Clean and disinfect workstations, equipment, and laboratory areas to support a safe working environment.
• Prepare, label, sterilize, and organize laboratory supplies, tubes, equipment, and materials.
• Support specimen storage, sample banking, retrieval activities, and post-analysis storage processes.
• Assist with laboratory equipment maintenance and routine preparation activities, including simple buffer preparation.
• Help manage laboratory inventory, supply organization, and workstation cleanliness.
• Follow safety, quality, regulatory, and 6S requirements while maintaining accurate workflow support.
