Job summary

Wellstar Kennestone Hospital is recruiting a Phlebotomist to join the Laboratory team. Under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager, you will perform phlebotomy, handle specimen collection, and support HIS/LIS workflows while ensuring patient safety and privacy.

You will process specimens, assist with pre-analytical tasks, provide courteous patient service, and maintain organized records. Strong attention to detail, data entry speed, and teamwork are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; other licenses may be required upon hire.
• Experience in phlebotomy or specimen processing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Specimen receipt and processing in the lab.
• Phlebotomy procedures with proper PPE and infection control.
• Customer service for patients and health care providers.
• Maintain organized files and data entry accuracy (40 wpm).
• Assist with HIS/LIS order entry and lab workflow.
