Job summary

Transcat is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support operations, assist with on-site calibrations, and communicate with customers. The role involves coordinating reminders, scheduling calibrations, and handling pipette QC and related tasks, with occasional travel to key accounts.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED (advanced science degree preferred) and a clean driving record, with a willingness to learn new databases and demonstrate solid computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Composing emails to customers for reminders (Weekly).
• Calling customers about reminders or missing documentation (Daily).
• Creating work orders for on-site calibrations (Daily).
• Helping customers with questions and scheduling calibration (Daily).
• QC pipettes in the morning (Daily).
• Scheduling Pipettes for calibration via Email or Phone (Weekly).
• Customer service relations (Daily).
• Customer service liaison to key accounts; may involve travel to account locations.
• On an as needed basis: answering and directing calls; wrapping instruments for transportation; maintaining backup records; on-site logistics for calibration customers; emailing electronic certificates to customers.
