Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned clinical laboratory sections. You will ensure testing runs efficiently, maintain QA/QC, and mentor staff to meet regulatory standards.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s (or Associate) in medical technology, MT (ASCP) certification, and 4 years of related experience; supervisory experience is preferred. This is a full-time on-site role based in Lansing, MI.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in medical technology or related field.
• MT (ASCP) or equivalent certification.
• 4 years' experience in related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the day to day operations of the assigned laboratory section(s).
• Plans daily work schedule and assignments for section(s).
• Recognizes the need for and assumes departmental responsibilities daily.
• Monitors testing turnaround times and implements corrective actions.
• Ensures preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Serves as technical resource for staff with complex problems.
• Develops, trains and evaluates lab staff; participates in hiring.
• Suggests improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Performs and verifies staff competencies.
• Performs other related duties as required.
