American Health Associates, Inc. seeks a Specimen Accessioner in Cincinnati, OH to accurately enter patient demographics and test information, and to process samples for in-house and reference lab testing.

Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma, data entry experience, and prior work in a clinical laboratory. The role requires independent work, strong communication skills, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Data entry experience in a clinical setting.
• Experience working in a laboratory environment.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with coworkers, clients and patients.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient demographic and test information into the computer system.
• Process and accession laboratory samples for testing.
• Troubleshoot problems when necessary.
• Prepare samples for testing and ensure delivery to the correct department.
• Perform multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and safety.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace and use proper PPE.
• Ensure specimen stability, identify errors and document corrections.
• Support lab goals, policies and procedures.
• Prepare samples and paperwork for reference labs or AHA locations.
• Scan requisitions and follow up on missing ones.
