Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Professional communication with hospital personnel.

• Ability to collect blood samples via capillary/venipuncture.
• Proper use of centrifuges and specimen processing.
• Ability to perform 12-lead ECG and identify arrhythmias.

• Computer terminal use and hospital system navigation.
• Triaging and basic troubleshooting of lab orders.
• Willingness to support LST functions and adapt to workload.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory service technician functions.
• Clarifies patient orders and identifies patients per policy.
• Conducts phlebotomy, specimen processing, and ECGs as trained.
• Maintains workflow and assists with training new staff.
• Troubleshoots equipment and specimen issues following guidelines.
• Ensures proper triage of orders to optimize turnaround times.
