Job summary

The University of Minnesota invites applications for a 100% appointment as SPA Lab Services Coordinator in the School of Physics and Astronomy on East Bank campus. The role combines program leadership, demonstration services oversight, and departmental safety responsibilities.

You will develop educational materials, train faculty, manage budgets, and ensure safe labs, while partnering with faculty and staff to enhance physics education for undergraduate labs and demonstrations.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Physics or related field with relevant experience.
• Experience with laboratory work; including computing, classroom management, and instructor support.
• Demonstrated competence with basic electrical and mechanical repair or modifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead educational programs for SPA and manage budgets.
• Develop lab materials, experiments and simulations for introductory physics labs.
• Develop Canvas content and administer 1000-level Canvas sites.
• Provide safety oversight as RSO and ensure lab safety compliance.
