Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest is seeking a Laboratory Services Coordinator to perform and coordinate specimen processing and data entry in the LIS. The role includes administrative duties in the lab, handling a high volume of requests, and ensuring accurate logging of temperatures and specimen tracking.

The ideal candidate has strong written communication, organization, and attention to detail, with 2+ years in healthcare or lab settings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years experience in a laboratory or healthcare environment.
• Experience with laboratory information (LIS) or practice management systems.
• Data entry experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform a high volume of data entry of test requests and results information into LIS.
• Log daily lab room temperature and compile monthly reports for the manager to sign.
• Receive and sort incoming specimens; accession and batch specimens for runs; file, store, and retrieve specimens.
• Work with Case Management to ensure final resolution of all sample issues, including follow-up calls and documentation.
• Answer the telephone and direct calls appropriately.
• Maintain records and files as required by Procedure Manual for orderly laboratory functioning.
• Responsible for inventory, ordering and lab re-supply, and receiving orders.
• Generate reports as needed.
• Support health center goals for productivity and quality metrics.
• Support revenue cycle goals for the health center/affiliate.
• Provide administrative and clerical support to laboratory staff.
• Provide training to new Laboratory Services Coordinators as needed.
