This role offers exposure to prototype systems, R&D activities, and customer-facing technical support in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years maintaining, troubleshooting or repairing semiconductor equipment.
  • Experience in semiconductor fabrication, cleanroom or similar environments.
  • Hands-on ability with mechanical, electrical, and automated systems.
  • Proficient with diagnostic instrumentation and calibration procedures.
  • Strong documentation and procedure development capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on lab semiconductor equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and upgrade systems to maximize uptime.
  • Support engineering teams with R&D activities and customer demonstrations.
  • Install and test prototype equipment and contribute to technical documentation.
  • Diagnose hardware, software, electrical, pneumatic, and system-level issues.
  • Provide training to engineers, technicians, and field personnel as needed.

We're seeking a hands-on Lab Service Engineer to support advanced semiconductor equipment in a research and development laboratory environment. In this role, you'll perform maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and equipment support while partnering closely with engineering teams to keep critical development programs, customer demonstrations, and prototype systems operating at peak performance.

What You'll Do:
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on semiconductor equipment in a laboratory environment.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and upgrade equipment to maximize system performance and uptime.
  • Support Process Development, Hardware Engineering, and Software Engineering teams with R&D activities and customer demonstrations.
  • Install, test, and support prototype equipment while assisting with development of procedures and technical documentation.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and system-level issues.
  • Support customer-facing technical activities and provide training to engineers, technicians, and field service personnel as needed.
  • Utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators and other safety equipment, when handling hazardous materials.
Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
  • 5+ years of experience supporting, maintaining, troubleshooting, or repairing semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • 5+ years of experience working in semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, wafer fabrication, or cleanroom environments.
  • 3+ years of experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, robotic, or automated systems.
  • 3+ years of experience performing preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, equipment calibration, and system upgrades.
  • 2+ years of experience using diagnostic equipment such as digital voltmeters (DVMs), testing tools, or related instrumentation.
What Sets You Apart:
  • Experience supporting prototype systems, engineering development equipment, or laboratory operations.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause analysis abilities.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Experience working with robotics, motion control systems, and automation equipment.
  • Automotive repair, diagnostics, or electromechanical maintenance experience.
  • Experience supporting research and development (R&D) environments.
  • Experience training engineers, technicians, or customer support personnel.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor process equipment and wafer processing operations.
  • Experience supporting customer sites and field service operations.
Additional Information:
  • Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check.
  • Overtime: May be required based on business needs, equipment issues, and customer commitments.
  • Lifting Requirements: Must be able to perform the physical requirements of equipment maintenance and laboratory support activities.
  • Work Environment: 100% onsite laboratory and cleanroom environment.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: Required; may include Air Purifying Respirators (APR), Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), and other safety equipment.
