Job summary

Onterris, Inc. is seeking a Sample Receiving Technician for our Deer Park, TX laboratory. The role focuses on receiving, labeling, documenting, and storing environmental samples while ensuring accuracy and adherence to SOPs.

The position involves data entry into LIMS, adherence to QA and safety programs, and potential field sampling support. The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent, basic lab knowledge, and the ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some lab experience preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of general lab practices and lab safety.
• Able to multi-task and communicate effectively (oral and written).
• Able to work independently and make sound decisions.
• Well organized and have an attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Receives environmental samples into the laboratory according to SOPs.
• Performs data entry of sample and test information into Laboratory Information System (LIMS).
• Label sample containers, store them in appropriate locations and/or contact the proper department to inform them of short holding time and/or rush requests.
• Assists in sample bottle preparation.
• Assists in sample management/archiving and disposal.
• Assists in sample pickup or field sampling, if needed.
• Assists in the coordination of daily field sampling/pickup schedule, if needed.
• Participates in focus teams to improve efficiency.
• Comply with our Quality Assurance Program.
• Comply with our Health and Safety Plan.
• Other duties as assigned
