About the Role
Responsible for the operation of Sample Logistics in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), applicable sections of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs), with emphasis on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988 (CLIA), and applicable Takeda and BioLife policies, procedures, and quality initiatives.
Accountabilities
- Provide day-to-day supervision of sample logistics, pre-analytic operations, and all personnel in their laboratory area.
- Assist staff, operations, and donor centers with sample logistics issues.
- Organize and prioritize workloads and assignments based on donor center requirements.
- Ensure remedial actions are taken when systems deviate from performance specifications.
- Evaluate laboratory systems, processes, procedures, and equipment for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support logistics projects and provide expertise.
- Advise Directors and managers on logistics activities.
- Perform sample logistics functions as needed.
- Ensure proper training, orientation, and performance evaluations of staff.
- Hire and supervise logistics staff.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to maintain laboratory quality systems.
- Maintain current procedures for laboratory equipment, including reviews, maintenance, and quality control.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., 5S, Kaizen).
- Conduct regular operational area visits to ensure alignment and process focus.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in bioscience or related field with supervisory experience, or an associate’s degree with more experience, or a high school diploma with extensive supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of SOPs, CFRs, GMPs, and CLIA regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work in a team and adapt to changing priorities.

- Make impact assessments and implement preventive actions for deviations.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as walking, standing, lifting, and bending.
- Work may involve exposure to blood-borne pathogens requiring PPE.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s in a related bioscience field with at least 1 year supervisory experience, or an associate’s degree with 2+ years lab experience and supervisory experience, or a high school diploma with 10+ years supervisory experience.
Compensation & Benefits
Location: USA - GA - Social Circle - Baxter Pkwy
Salary Range: $86,500 - $135,960 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
