Job summary

Georgia Tech's School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences is seeking a TEMP - Lab/Research Support to assist in the operation and maintenance of the academic laboratory. The role includes performing analyses, setting up and cleaning equipment, and maintaining stock and supplies.

Interaction with faculty, staff and students is routine for this position. The duties also cover instrument setup and maintenance, ordering materials, preparing media and samples, and supporting demonstrations as assigned.

Qualifications

• Educational Requirements: High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma.
• Required Experience: Up to two years of job related experience.
• Skills in inventory management and the use of specialized computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Setup, operate and maintain instruments and other equipment used in performing lab tests and experiments.
• Order supplies and materials as required; maintain records.
• Setup laboratory media/equipment for demonstrations.
• May clean instruments, glassware and other lab equipment.
• Prepare and process laboratory samples for use in assigned tests.
• Perform other duties as assigned
