Job summary

Scripps Research in La Jolla, California, seeks a Research Assistant I to support the ASF Scientific Director and staff on the PCL Node Operation project, performing routine maintenance on all-node infrastructure and assisting with node users’ research goals.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related science and 1–3 years of experience (Master’s desired with 0–2 years). The role includes inventory management and benefits, with a compensation range of $20.67–$24.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Requires the ability to independently conduct a wide variety of standard laboratory techniques/procedures.
• 1-3 years experience in organic chemistry preferred; Master’s degree acceptable with 0-2 years.

Responsibilities

• Work under general supervision and assist in Node operations.
• Perform routine maintenance on all-node infrastructure.
• Assist in Node inventory management and replenishment.
• Help Node Users with their research goals.
• May assist in designing experiments within the research plan.
• Details of established essential functions discussed during interview.
