Job summary

Wisconsin Diagnostic Laboratories (WDL) is seeking a Lab Quality Specialist to support the design, implementation, and performance of the QMS in a 1.0 FTE, first-shift role at our Milwaukee facility. The position emphasizes regulatory compliance, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration with leadership and staff.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of clinical laboratory experience, with ASCP/AMT licensure considerations if needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Experience in quality assurance preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science, science or healthcare field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Quality Manager in developing, implementing and monitoring the function and performance of the QMS.
  • Serves as a resource sharing knowledge and expertise with leadership and staff and actively participates in training as needed.
  • Applies quality management and process improvement principles, methods, and tactics.
  • Facilitates actions to meet regulatory and accreditation requirements and coordinates and tracks proficiency testing activities.
  • Facilitate actions to meet the quality goals and objectives of the organization.
  • Conducts internal quality assessments and serves as lead auditor.
  • Gathers quality performance data and generates analytical reports. Monitors performance by analyzing key performance indicators and other data.
  • Supports collaboration across various teams and departments. Presents and communicates data and other information to various stakeholders including senior leaders, medical staff and other hospital groups or committees.
  • Facilitates and provides administrative support for reporting and investigations of nonconforming or patient safety events and ensures implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions and preventive actions.
