Job summary

Exxon Mobil Corporation on the Corpus Christi area is seeking a Laboratory Quality Lead to own and manage the quality system connected to ISO 9001 and ISO 17025, while supporting lab personnel in quality and providing advanced instrument troubleshooting, method development, and stakeholder communications.

You will lead investigations, govern analytical methods, and drive continuous improvement across laboratory operations, collaborating with cross-functional teams and site leadership.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
• 3+ years experience in oil and gas / petrochemical industry or other relevant industry.
• Proficient in Excel and SQL for data extraction and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead investigations related to laboratory quality issues, deviations, non-conformances, and customer concerns using data analysis and root cause analysis.
• Own and govern laboratory analytical methods, including method development, implementation, improvement, and the Test Method Assessment (TMA) program.
• Lead laboratory quality systems and ensure compliance with corporate, regulatory, and industry requirements.
• Monitor statistical quality control (SQC) performance, identify trends, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage calibration programs, proficiency testing, quality standards, and measurement assurance activities.
• Own and administer laboratory information systems, including LIMS, SampleManager, Integration Manager, QCPlus, and business continuity plans.
• Provide technical leadership and support for analytical testing and laboratory operations.
• Work with Operations and Communities of Practice to improve product quality, testing capability, and laboratory performance.
• Represent the laboratory on site and corporate quality teams
• Promote safety, compliance, and continuous improvement through training, communication, and employee engagement.

Education

Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience

3+ years experience in oil and gas / petrochemical industry

Proficient in Excel and SQL for data extraction and analysis
