Job summary

Washington State Department of Agriculture is seeking a Management Analyst 4 to provide senior-level administrative support and technical guidance within the FS&CS Laboratory Program. The role covers budgeting, contract administration, data management, and strategic planning across multiple grants and projects.

Responsibilities include coordinating with program staff, leading complex projects, and ensuring compliance with laws and policies while supporting laboratory operations and data systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or related field.
  • Four years of experience conducting research and analyzing policies, laws, rules, technical procedure, or regulations.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred qualifications include budgeting, ISO/quality assurance, and database management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze technical and business needs to facilitate improvements in services.
  • Coordinate with senior staff to ensure deliverables are developed, implemented, and maintained with budgeting and reporting.
  • Work with stakeholders to assess, plan, implement, and report program deliverables in the laboratory program.
  • Instruct staff to ensure compliance with federal, state, and department laws and policies.
  • Draft proposals for program changes; prepare program communications and presentations.
  • Participate in strategic and long-range planning; monitor actions and lean initiatives.
  • Help develop procedures and apply administrative policies.
  • Coordinate or lead ad hoc FS&CS and agency projects; manage public records requests and website content.
