Job Description
The primary function of this position is to receive and process patient specimens, deliver them to the appropriate departments, ensure specimens and requisitions are correctly labeled, validate requisitions against orders in the system, process specimens for reference laboratories, ensure results are sent to the proper providers, investigate and resolve problem specimens, answer and make phone calls, fax results, access patient requisitions/labels, maintain a smooth workflow, and assist with supply chain and inventory management. The role also involves teaching new employees and students how to process specimens.
PRN Status Clause:
This is a PRN position, and you must be available to work at least 12 hours bi-weekly, as needed based on departmental demands. Additional hours may be required as requested by your supervisor, and work hours may vary depending on the unit's needs.
Additional Job Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
