Job summary

Huntsville Hospital is seeking a laboratory support team member to receive and process requisitions and specimens, and to order specified lab tests in accordance with standard procedures. You will respond to phone requests and enter lab test data into the computer, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, with associates degree preferred, and MLA certification preferred; strong communication and keyboarding skills

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associates Degree with chemistry and biology coursework preferred.
• MLA certification from ASCP or AMT preferred.
• Previous work experience strongly preferred.
• Keyboarding speed of 40 wpm preferred.
• Excellent communication and confidentiality essential in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support to the lab by receiving/processing requisitions/specimens and ordering specified lab tests according to standard operating procedures.
• Responds to phone requests and enters lab test data into computer.
