Millennium Physician Group is seeking a Phlebotomist for PRN coverage in Florida. You will draw and collect blood, verify patient records, and prepare specimens for testing while ensuring proper labeling and sample integrity.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, identifying patients, preparing samples with correct labels and barcodes, and supporting day-to-day lab operations. Prior phlebotomy certification and 2+ years in a lab are required; this role offers flexible hours with no weekends.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of lab experience.
• Familiar with labeling/ID protocol and vacutainers.
• Knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA) in medical offices.

Responsibilities

• Performs painless venipuncture and capillary puncture for the clinic.
• Identifies patients following protocol.
• Prepares samples with correct labels and barcodes; inspects vials.
• Reconciles outstanding sample reports at day’s end.
• Observes safety procedures and sample prep.
• Support and guide in day-to-day activities.
• Clean up old orders and manage duplicates in Copia.
• Provide excellent guest service to staff and patients.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Description Summary

The Phlebotomist is responsible for drawing and collecting blood from patients and preparing the samples for testing. Verifies the patient's records, enters data into the system, and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. Processes specimens and demonstrates proper handling of samples. Instructs patients on Coumadin and performs limited waived testing. Maintains sample integrity by identification and labeling (2 identifiers). Maintains work area, supplies, and cleanliness.

No weekends or major holidays!

Will cover locations in Charlotte county

Responsibilities

• Performs painless venipuncture and capillary puncture for the Coumadin clinic
• Identifies patient following protocol.
• Prepares samples for processing w/correct label and bar code and inspects vials
• Reconciles outstanding sample report at day’s end.
• Observe safety procedures and sample prep.
• Support and guide in day-to-day activities.
• Clean up old orders and combine orders in Copia, know which tests are duplicates and which are necessary for measures.
• Demonstrate excellent guest service to internal team members and patients.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification or M.A. certification or certificate from a phlebotomy program.
• 2+ years of experience in Lab.
• Understand labeling/ID protocol, and knowledge of common lab tests, sample types, and vacutainers.
• Understand Biohazard, OSHA safety regulations for medical offices, and Universal precautions.
• Knowledge of test requirements and how to search Quest/LabCorp for esoteric tests.
• Ability to interpret miscellaneous order
• Ability to guide and observe new phlebotomists
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
