Job summary

Millennium Physician Group in Florida is seeking a PRN Phlebotomist to draw blood, prepare specimens, and enter data for testing. You will verify patient records, label specimens correctly, and maintain sample integrity while supporting a busy lab environment.

The role requires phlebotomy or MA certification and 2+ years in a lab setting, with emphasis on safety, accurate documentation, and teamwork across locations in Charlotte County.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy or MA certification required.
• Minimum 2+ years of laboratory experience.
• Knowledge of labeling/ID protocols and common lab tests.
• Understand OSHA safety regulations for medical offices.
• Ability to search Quest/LabCorp for esoteric tests.
• Ability to interpret miscellaneous orders and guide new staff.
• Capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs painless venipuncture and capillary puncture for the Coumadin clinic.
• Identifies patient following protocol.
• Prepares samples for processing with correct label and barcode and inspects vials.
• Reconciles outstanding sample report at day’s end.
• Observe safety procedures and sample prep.
• Support and guide in day-to-day activities.
• Clean up old orders and manage duplicates in Copia.
• Demonstrate excellent guest service to internal team members and patients.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Description Summary

The Phlebotomist is responsible for drawing and collecting blood from patients and preparing the samples for testing. Verifies the patient's records, enters data into the system, and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. Processes specimens and demonstrates proper handling of samples. Instructs patients on Coumadin and performs limited waived testing. Maintains sample integrity by identification and labeling (2 identifiers). Maintains work area, supplies, and cleanliness.

This position is PRN, working hours or shifts as needed!!

No weekends or major holidays! Will cover locations in Charlotte county

Responsibilities

• Performs painless venipuncture and capillary puncture for the Coumadin clinic

• Prepares samples for processing w/correct label and bar code and inspects vials
• Reconciles outstanding sample report at day’s end.
• Observe safety procedures and sample prep.
• Support and guide in day-to-day activities.
• Clean up old orders and combine orders in Copia, know which tests are duplicates and which are necessary for measures.
• Demonstrate excellent guest service to internal team members and patients.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification or M.A. certification or certificate from a phlebotomy program.
• 2+ years of experience in Lab.
• Understand labeling/ID protocol, and knowledge of common lab tests, sample types, and vacutainers.
• Understand Biohazard, OSHA safety regulations for medical offices, and Universal precautions.
• Knowledge of test requirements and how to search Quest/LabCorp for esoteric tests.
• Ability to interpret miscellaneous order
• Ability to guide and observe new phlebotomists
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
