Job summary

Millennium Physician Group is seeking a part-time/PRN phlebotomist to support the Charlotte County area in Florida. You will perform venipuncture, collect and label samples, and ensure proper specimen handling and documentation.

Responsibilities include patient identification, data entry, sample preparation, and adherence to safety protocols. The role requires lab experience and phlebotomy certification, with opportunities to train newer staff and support daily clinic operations.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification or M.A. certification or phlebotomy program certificate.
• 2+ years of experience in Lab.
• Understanding labeling/ID protocols and common lab tests.
• Knowledge of Biohazard/OSHA safety regulations and universal precautions.
• Knowledge of test requirements; ability to search Quest/LabCorp for esoteric tests.
• Ability to interpret miscellaneous orders; guide and observe new phlebotomists.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

• Reconciles outstanding sample reports at day’s end.
• Observes safety procedures and sample prep.
• Supports and guides in day-to-day activities.
• Clean up old orders; manage duplicates in Copia; ensure necessary tests are run.
• Demonstrates excellent guest service to internal team members and patients.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Description Summary

The Phlebotomist is responsible for drawing and collecting blood from patients and preparing the samples for testing. Verifies the patient's records, enters data into the system, and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. Processes specimens and demonstrates proper handling of samples. Instructs patients on Coumadin and performs limited waived testing. Maintains sample integrity by identification and labeling (2 identifiers). Maintains work area, supplies, and cleanliness.

This position is PRN, working hours or shifts as needed!!

No weekends or major holidays!

Will cover locations in Charlotte county

• Reconciles outstanding sample report at day’s end.
• Observe safety procedures and sample prep.
• Support and guide in day-to-day activities.
• Clean up old orders and combine orders in Copia, know which tests are duplicates and which are necessary for measures.
• Demonstrate excellent guest service to internal team members and patients.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
